A new cancer service will for people from Carlow and Kilkenny to live longer.
St Luke’s in Kilkenny and the Ireland East Hospital Group has just launched the new scheme.
It’s linking up with UCD to create a new academic unit specialising in cancer care.
CEO Mary Day says this will include new clinical trials at UCD – so that patients can quickly access cutting edge therapies.
It’s expected to improve outcomes for patients and increase life expectancy.
