The Kilkenny Branch of the Order of Malta are urgently fundraising to secure their own building in the city.
The local voluntary group was established in 1939 – and has been running in Kilkenny since then.
No government funding is supplied to the unit – based at the old auxiliary hospital on Wolfe Tone Street.
A strictly come dancing event has been organised for later in the year to try raise funds to secure a new building.
