In the United Kingdom, around £9.4 billion is said to have been borrowed from the bank of mum and dad during the Covid-19 crisis.
Research suggests one in four, aged over 50 and living in the UK, have lent £1,300 on average to another relative.
Female family members seemed to have been the most affected by the pandemic’s squeeze on finances.
