“It was really a terrible shock” – the words of a local mother recalling the day they found out her son’s schoolmate Philip Cairns was missing.
Bridie Lawlor from St Mullins had been living in Dublin where her son went to school with Philip for a number of weeks before his disappearance in October 1986.
Bridie says Philip and her son were both quiet lads who sat beside each other in Coláiste Éanna.
She was involved in a number of the searches for Philip after he went missing.
Speaking to KCLR Live this morning, Bridie says her son’s bag was also searched.
