The Freemasons Lodge in Carlow was purpose built for the local Masonic Order in 1895.
The group itself of course, is much, much older than that.
There are currently about 55 members of the Carlow branch of the group which, for so long, has been seen as a secret organisation.
Meetings are still held here once every month, except for July and August.
We paid a visit to their Lodge on the Athy Road recently and a full interview with one of their senior members can be heard on KCLR this Thursday (26th January) and will be available afterwards online here.
