Plenty of events in Carlow and Kilkenny as Culture Night 2016 takes place today

People are being encouraged to become tourists in their own towns and cities tonight for Culture Night.

From 5 until 11 o’clock you’ll be able to experience arts and culture in over 40 towns and cities free of charge.

In Kilkenny there are 11 events taking place tonight, including art workshops, exhibitions, and concerts.

Meanwhile, there are 14 events in Carlow, including photographic exhibitions, tours of the museum, and a special reading by the Banshees writers’ group.

Over 3,000 events are taking place in museums, galleries, theatres and churches around the country.
