A local forecaster says there the possibility of a storm later next week.
Alan O’Reilly says a number of low pressure systems are developing and crossing the Atlantic and will bring wind and rain towards the end of next week.
The Carlow Weather forecaster says the exact track of the storms is very uncertain….
“If we look here, you can see the European weather model brings a storm close to the north west at the end of next week but the GFS weather model keeps the centre low well to the south of Ireland. So you’re going to see lots of headlines about storms. There is a risk of a storm but it’s very uncertain yet and it
unlikely to be a snowstorm.”
“There is a risk of cooler air next week. It does look like it’s going to be cooler, not very cold but cooler. There could be some hail or mountain snow but not at low levels. It doesn’t look like at the moment at least. Normally when we get weather from the west, we don’t see snow so I wouldn’t be worrying about it being a snowstorm but there is a risk of a storm but the exact track is very uncertain. So nothing to worry about for now, just something to keep an eye on and especially if you have plans for next Friday or Saturday.”
