Rent prices in Carlow and Kilkenny are continuing to rise.
The latest report from Daft.ie says on average rents are up 12 % but in Dublin prices are nearly 20 % higher than their peak in the Celtic tiger.

The cost of rent in Kilkenny has gone up 13% since this time last year.
The average advertised rent now stands at €831 per month, up 46% from its lowest point.
In Carlow the increase was slightly lower at 11.4%, setting you back an average of €794 a month.
Nationally, rents rose 11.8% in the year to June 2017, with the national average cost at €1,156 a month.
Elsewhere, the average monthly rent in Waterford is €772, €919 in Limerick and €1,122 in Cork.
