Plans for local pubs and restaurants to reopen next month have been thrown into disarray after Fáilte Ireland published it’s guidelines for this summer.
The measures we’d been expecting are included, like Customers leaving by 11.30, and only 6 people permitted per table, with children under 12 exempt.
A 105-minute time restriction will be in place per booking, if there is 1 metre or less between tables indoors.
But Pat Crotty from Paris Texas in Kilkenny says they’ve also included a strict interpretation of what qualifies for outdoor based on the smoking ban legislation.
Pat told KCLR News that local pubs and restaurant my not be able to open now as a result even though they were able to open last summer and many have invested heavily in improving what they thought were outdoor areas.
