Report into foster home in the south east has been released

The Minister for Disabilities Finian McGrath has apologised to the woman at the centre of a report into allegations of abuse at a foster home.

It follows the release of a senior counsel’s research into the treatment of ‘Grace’ – who remained in the home in the southeast of the country for over 20 years, despite the claims that had been made.

Conor Dignam’s document recommends a wide ranging commission of investigation be set up.

Carlow/Kilkenny TD John McGuinness says it’s time Ireland learned from mistakes like these.
