Road users across Carlow and Kilkenny urged to take care this bank holiday Monday

Drivers across Carlow and Kilkenny are being urged to slow down and belt up this bank holiday Monday.
The June Bank Holiday weekend is the worst for road deaths – with 120 people being seriously injured or Killed in collisions on the June bank holiday weekend since 2007.
Alcohol was a factor in 38% of those deaths.
The Gardaí have launched ‘Operation Focus’ which is targeting excessive speed, and will see more checkpoints on all roads.
Speaking to KCLR, Road Safety Officer with Carlow County Council, John Mc Darby says there’ll be a noticable presence of Gardaí.
