A senior worker in Kilkenny County Council’s housing department says the crisis is the worst she’s ever seen it.
Margaret Newport deals with the homeless and the nearly homeless who come to the council and she says that emergency accommodation around the county is almost full.
She told KCLR Live this morning that there doesn’t appear to be a anywhere to rent in Kilkenny for those on lower incomes.
There are 18 families in hotels and B&Bs around the county.
