St Luke’s Hospital hope to have their MRI Scanner by 2017

It’s expected St Luke’s Hospital for Carlow/Kilkenny will have an MRI scanner by 2017.

That’s according to ‘The friends of St Luke’s’ group who have to raise €250,000 to secure it.

The HSE and the department of health came on board with the group to support their campaign for the scanner, by offering a certain amount of funding.

The group are now very close to their target, and it’s expected the scanner will be secured by 2017.

Anne Slattery is general manager of St Luke’s hospital, she told KCLR that locals having to travel for MRI scans isn’t acceptable.
