Maudlin Street in Thomastown has been closed due to flooding.
Traffic management’s in place from the Garda Station with personnel from the county council and fire services on the scene.
Gardaí tell us Logan Street and Pipe Street are also closed, traffic won’t get passed Garda Station, diversions in place.
It comes as water rose on Bridge Street in Callan earlier, sparking fears that businesses and homes could be flooded.
But those along the stretch there tell us that the recent works appear to have worked keeping the waters out.
However, there is a weather warning in place for Kilkenny as well as Carlow and now four other counties which runs from midday today to 3am tomorrow morning. (Details here).
