Taxi drivers and owners in Kilkenny city have been outlining their concerns to county council officials.
Many feel they’ve been left out of the consultation process when it comes to moving the ranks during some large scale events, some of the waiting areas too have no shelter for customers or barriers to allow for proper queueing.
Cllr Eugene McGuinness organised for a delegation to meet with city engineer Ian Gardner as he believes it’s important their service be incorporated into plans, in particular as there are plans to expand the night time economy offering with the pushing out of closing times for pubs and clubs.
