Teenager killed in Carlow town road crash

A teenager has been killed in a single vehicle crash in Carlow town last night.

The 17-year-old driver of what’s understood to have been an e-scooter was initially taken from the scene on Carpenter’s Way to St Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny for medical attention before being transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin when he later died.

An 18-year-old passenger received medical treatment in Carlow.

The route is closed while a technical examination takes place.
