Temperatures hit -6 in parts of Carlow and Kilkenny

Care’s needed on all routes this morning.

It’s as Met Eireann has a status yellow low temperature and ice warning in place nationally until 10am.

Temperatures overnight and this morning are currently hitting up to minus six in parts of Carlow and Kilkenny.

Gardaí in both counties say no major issues have as yet been reported, but advice to motorists is to drive with caution.
