Building on Success

The Kilkenny champions have been on an incredible journey this season, with their most recent triumph a hard-fought 2-15 to 2-13 victory over Borris-In-Ossory Kilcotton in Portlaoise.

Rathnure, their Wexford opponents, also impressed in their semifinal, overcoming Bray Emmets to secure their place in Sunday’s showdown.

A Special Moment for the Community

Ahead of the big game, the spirit in Lisdowney is electric. Club stalwart Tom O’Carroll summed up the feelings of many supporters:

“Think of the history, think of what you’ve done for the supporters. You just look up at the supporters—we try and gather together in the middle of the stands so you can hear us on the field, and I think you do. You don’t owe us anything; you came from nothing, and fair dues to you. It’s down to you. Do your best, and that’s all we can look for.”

This sense of pride and unity has carried Lisdowney through a memorable campaign, and the community’s support will undoubtedly play a key role again on Sunday.

Lessons from 2013

For some players, this final is more than just another game; it’s an opportunity to rewrite history. Mick Kenny, who was part of the panel when Lisdowney narrowly lost the 2013 Leinster Junior Club Final to Offaly’s Ballinamere, reflected on the significance of the occasion:

“Can’t wait, can’t wait. A few of us played in 2013 in the junior Leinster final, and we lost. The man to make up for that. We’re on a roll, and long may it continue.”

That painful memory fuels the drive of this team, who are determined to ensure a different outcome this time around.

Tune In

For those unable to travel, KCLR will bring every moment of the action live with thanks to Proficient Engineering Limited.. Whether in the stands or listening at home, Lisdowney’s supporters will be roaring their team on as they chase Leinster glory.

This Sunday promises to be a thrilling chapter in the club’s storied history—one that could end with their name etched into Leinster’s record books, and KCLR are making a day of it with full match analysis courtesy of Kilkenny Self Storage.
