Two men arrested after discovery of suspected drugs worth in excess of €60,000 in County Laois

Two people have been arrested following a seizure of suspected drugs in County Laois.

The finding came yesterday (Tuesday) after gardaí from the county’s roads policing unit on routine patrol stopped a car on the R445 close to Emo.

Following a vehicle search, €60,000 worth of cannabis herb was uncovered with a quantity of cocaine valued at €5,000 with a small amount of ecstasy.

All will be sent for analysis.

The two occupants, both of whom are male aged in their twenties, were arrested and taken to a garda station in Laois – they can be detained for up to a week.
