Two men due in court in connection with seizure of firearms, ammunition and suspected drugs in Laois and Kildare

Two men are due in court this morning in connection with the investigation that saw the seizure of firearms, ammunition and over €700,000 worth of controlled drugs in Laois and Kildare. 

As we reported yesterday the men, both of whom are aged in their forties, were arrested and detained at stations in the Midlands under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007 after an operation targeting individuals and six locations across the two counties.

They’ve now been charged and are expected to appear before Athy District Court  this (Tuesday) morning.
