A local GP says University Hospital Waterford’s back to its pre HSE cyberattack capacity.
Representatives of the Health Service Executive are due before an Oireachtas committee today to outline how 70% of their computer devices are now available again.
But they’re warning it will take months before systems are fully restored – and the attack will have ‘human costs’ with some outpatient appointments still badly affected.
Dr Justin Kwong of Lakeside Family Practice was among Sue Nunn’s guests on last evening’s The Way It Is to talk about that clinic’s opening on Monday after uniting sister medical centres (read about that here).
While on air he revealed he’d been in touch with the regional facility and had the update on that.
