Very different scenes in parts of Carlow and Kilkenny this lunchtime.
While the sun shines in some spots, roads have closed in pockets of both counties where rivers continue to rise and spill out.
We reported this morning how the Quay in Thomastown had closed – here’s how it looks there this lunchtime;
Carlow County Council has issued 500 sandbags to date and are reminding those in need of such supports where they can avail of them;

Dermot Keyes is in Freshford today where so far it’s escaped the worst of the weather.
Freshford-based Councillor Michael McCarthy (FF) has repeatedly drawn attention to the €3.8 million in flood relief funding promised for Freshford in 2018 which has yet to be delivered upon.
