The JJ Kavanagh Carlow Senior Hurling Championship continues this weekend with three more games across Friday and Saturday as the race for the knockout stages begins to take shape.
Tomorrow evening, St Mullins will be aiming to make it back-to-back victories when they face Naomh Bríd at McGrath Park in Bagenalstown.
Last year’s county finalists recovered from an opening-round defeat to Ballinkillen by overcoming Naomh Eoin last weekend, and manager Sean O’Meara says his side is still a work in progress.
Speaking to KCLR, O’Meara revealed that injuries and player availability have prevented St Mullins from finding consistency in selection.
“We are missing a couple of lads. We are in the league stage, so you do have the comfort that at least it’s still the league stage.
“But the other point is we are constantly missing somebody. We haven’t put out the same team yet twice this year.
“It is about trying to get our best 15 on the field at some stage, the sooner the better.”
Elsewhere this weekend, attention will turn to Ballinkillen’s meeting with Bagenalstown Gaels on Saturday evening.
Throw-in is at 6.30pm, with full live commentary on KCLR Plus, in association with Dan Morrissey & Co.
Meanwhile, hurling supporters can also hear an in-depth interview with Mount Leinster Rangers manager Niall Bergin on the latest edition of the KCLR Hurling Podcast.
