‘Safe but just about’ appears to be the status of Muine Bheag Vocational School.
It’s been revealed that just 12 students have enrolled at the local secondary school for September 2017, despite a target of 20 having been set by the Education and Training Board last year.
The school is still in danger of closing in the coming years if their numbers don’t improve.
Chairman of the Board of Management Denis Foley told KCLR News that they’ve been guaranteed at least another year to try bring the numbers up and they will be working hard to do this.
