A man had to be rescued from the Barrow this afternoon.
The man’s car went into the river at the boatslip in Graignamanagh.
A quick-thinking and heroic local went into the water to rescue him and managed to bring the man to safety.
He was helped on the riverbank by Gardai and the ambulance and Fire services also attended the scene.
The man who’s thought to be in his 60’s is being rushed to St Lukes Hospital in Kilkenny but he’s not suffered any serious injuries.
