McDonald shocked Trump congratulations letter not sent

A local Councillor says he’s taken aback that a letter of congratulations on Donald Trump’s US Presidential election victory was never sent.

Fianna Fail’s Arthur McDonald proposed it at the monthly meeting in November.

Ordinarily such letters would be drafted and sent by the Council executive and sent as a matter of course but he found out yesterday that this one was sidelined.

Cllr McDonald was shocked on Monday when he found out the congratulations were never sent but says he hasn’t been given any explanation why.

The Bagnalstown Councillor says the letter of congratulations should still be sent to the US Ambassador to Ireland.
