Crime & security are biggest threats to Bagenalstown

Security, crime, and youth anti-social behaviour are among the threats facing two areas in Carlow, according to a new study.

A Town and Village Health Check was carried out recently for the County Council, which did an in-depth analysis of the various towns and villages in the county.

While every area was said to have plenty of tourism potential, historical character, and volunteer spirit among other positives, a list of threats was also compiled.

Myshall and Bagenalstown were the only two areas where security and crime were identified as risks.

However, Bagenalstown councillor Arthur McDonald says he would certainly question that.
