29 jobs to go at a Carlow Engineering company

29 jobs are to go at an engineering firm in Carlow.

Whitelite Automation Limited on the O Brien Road in the town is to close later this month after the High Court today appointed a liquidator to the company which has been in business for almost 30 years.

The company who helped power up the London Olympics saw a rescue package for them fail when an investor pulled out due to the external factors of falling oil prices and the economic crisis in Russia.

John Brophy President of Carlow Chamber of Commerce says its a big blow to the town.
