3 youths arrested in connection with incident involving homeless man on Kieran Street in Kilkenny

Gardai investigating an incident on Kieran Street in Kilkenny this week have confirmed that 3 young people were arrested in connection with the matter.

A homeless man was targeted by a number of youths under the arches at Dunnes Stores on Tuesday evening – video footage of the incident was circulated on social media prompting a huge public outcry.

The footage showed the man was taunted and had items thrown at him.

Gardai have told KCLR news that 3 separate arrests were made this week on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

All 3 questioned were juveniles.
