Covid-19 latest: 351 new cases, as numbers continue to drop in Carlow

There has been a further 351 Covid-19 cases.

46 people are in hospital – up 7 on this day last week.

16 are in ICU – up 3 over the same period.

However, Encouragingly the numbers in Carlow are beginning to be brought under control.

The latest figures released earlier reported the county had a 14-day incidence rate up to midnight last Sunday of 74 per 100,000 population.

That’s down from 100 per 100,000 the previous week and 188 per 100,000 the week before.

In Kilkenny the infection rate saw a rise of 3 points to 43 cases per 100,000 over the same fortnight.

The 5-day moving average of new cases in Carlow dropped to zero between the 23rd and 27th, while it was 3 a day in Kilkenny.
