Tullow Rugby Star Sean O’Brien will be given the Carlow Ambassador award later this week.
The County Carlow Chamber has announced that the award will go to the man affectionately known as “the Tullow tank” at an event on Thursday for his ongoing support and commitment to the county.
Sean O’Brien has enjoyed much success with the Irish rugby team, Leinster, Tullow and the British and Irish Lions.
The Chamber says he’s being given this award because of his strong connection to his roots, and the local Carlow area – and for his extensive contribution over the years to rugby in Carlow.
Sean O’Brien says he’s honoured to receive the award, and that it means so much to him especially coming from his own county.
Meanwhile, Chamber CEO Brian O’Farrell says they’re “delighted” to be presenting Sean with the award.
The ceremony takes place at the Carlow Business Awards on Thursday the 29th September.
