The Health information and quality authority says a number of centres in Carlow are improving.
It comes after some concerns were raised about the standard of them following an inspection last August.
Following an inspection last August, St Lazarians House was found to be moderately non compliant in just one out of ten areas – as there were not sufficient shower or bath facilities to meet the needs of its residents.
However works were being carried out at the time of the inspection to rectify this.
St Fiaccs was found to be compliant in all areas following an inspection in July while HIQA reported that there is still progress to be made at the Carlow District Hospital.
It found that the hospital was moderately non compliant in 8 out of 18 areas.
HIQA acknowledged that progress has been made on the renovation project at the hospital but that improvements are also required regarding care assessment and planning, medication management and staffing.
