John McGuinness says the Government didn’t take threat of industrial action by Gardaí seriously

Kilkenny Fianna Fail TD John McGuinness has criticised the Government for not taking the threat of industrial action by Gardaí seriously.

Gardaí will turn up for work as normal today, after calling off their strike overnight.

11th hour negotiations at the Labour Court came up with a potential deal for officers worth about €3,600 per person.

Members of the AGSI and the GRA will decide in the coming days if they want to accept it.

Speaking to KCLR News, John McGuinness says the Government didn’t take the threat of industrial action serious enough to begin with.
