Bobby Aylward says the increase in pay for Gardaí is going to cause problems ‘across the board’ with other public sector workers.

It comes after Gardaí called off their planned strike action last Friday, after securing a new pay deal at the Labour Court.

The ASTI are also campaigning for pay increases for newly qualified teachers.

Deputy Aylward says groups outside the Lansdowne Road agreement are going to cause problems for other public sector workers now.

Speaking to KCLR, Bobby says there’s not enough money in the country to give pay increases to every public sector group who demands it.
