Eoin Harte’s family launch petition demanding full-time security at Carlow Town Park

The family of a disabled Carlow man who was mugged near the Town Park last weekend have now launched a petition demanding full time security at the park.

Earlier this week KCLR reported how Eoin Harte was targetted by two teenagers who turned off his electric wheelchair before rifling through his things and taking his wallet.

There have been repeated calls for CCTV at the park by local councillors – and it’s understood that Gardaí are in the process of trying to extend the current town CCTV programme.

However, Eoin’s sister, Róisín, says there needs to be full-time security there and her petition to this end has already gathered almost 2,000 signatures.
