It’s taken more than two years already, but construction work will finally start on a community tearoom and shop in South Kilkenny before the summer holidays are over.
Just this week the volunteers involved with Billy’s Tearooms and Shop in Ballyhale received the welcome news that they would be getting €45,000 off the council.

They’ve also recently been granted €60,000 from Kilkenny LEADER.
Noreen Murphy, who’s one of the driving forces behind the project, told KCLR News it’s been a long and interesting journey so far.
