John McGuinness calls for stricter laws around dog ownership

A Kilkenny Fianna Fáil TD says dog owners must be made fully responsible for the care and actions of their dogs.

John McGuinness made the comments after a recent study suggested it’s time to get rid of Ireland’s restricted dog-breed list.

At the moment, certain dogs are restricted under legislation in this country, but Deputy McGuinness says it’s far too broad.

He told KCLR News that the laws must be changed in order to make sure dogs are properly cared for in this country.
