Credit union customers targeted in phishing scam

Customers of a local credit union are being warned about a potential scam email.

St Canice’s Credit Union in Kilkenny have contacted their customers to say it’s been brought to their attention that a phishing scam appears to have been doing the rounds.

The fake email comes from a ‘credit union @ online.ie’ account or one similar to that and asks you to open or download a file called ‘Payment Confirmation’.

However, St Canice’s are warning that under no circumstances should you do that.

They say any legitimate email from them will come from an @ st canice’scu. ie account.
