Car sales in Carlow and Kilkenny are down so far this year.
The Society of the Irish Motor Industry has released their figures covering January to September this year with Brexit being blamed for the drop.
From the start of 2017 up until the end of September, sales in Kilkenny were down 15% which amounts to 430 fewer cars sold in the county.
In Carlow, sales fell 12%, which is 2,015 fewer cars heading out of the showroom.
The national figures ties in with the local ones as they’re down 10%.
The SIMI Director General Alan Nolan says the fall is due to the impact of Brexit which has driven down the value of sterling forcing more people to import cars.
They’ve called on the Government to avoid any additional negative burdens in next week’s Budget.
