300 people to take part in major national cycle starting in Carlow today

The organisers of a major cycling race taking place in Carlow and parts of North Kilkenny today say they hope there won’t be too much of a disruption to traffic.

More than 300 men and women are taking part in a 150 kilometre circuit and an 84 kilometre course respectively, which starts and finishes on the Killeshin Road near the Applegreen.

The route will also take them up through Castlecomer.

Speaking to KCLR News, Jessica Lambe of the National Road Series says it could take up to 4 hours for people to complete it.
