Farms in Carlow Kilkenny and all across Ireland are facing into a major fodder crisis if the weather doesn’t improve drastically in the next couple of weeks.

Grass isn’t growing and land is too wet in most places to put livestock out yet.
After the long wet winter it’s now reckoned that there’s only enough silage left in the country to last two weeks.
KCLR Farming Correspondant Matt O’Keeffe says the situation is getting really serious.
He says clinics and workshops have now been organised locally – starting this Thursday in Cillín Hill – advise farmers on how best to stretch their remaining feed.
