A man has been arrested in Kilkenny after a chase by Gardaí in Callan.
A car failed to stop in the Ahenure area.

Shortly after 10 o’clock last night, Gardaí say they were forced to give chase to a car that refused to stop for them.
When they caught up with the car, they arrested the driver, a man in his early 20s, on suspicion of drink-driving.

The two passengers were also taken to Kilkenny Garda Station but were later released.
Following a search of the car a small quantity of controlled drugs were found.
The driver of the car was charged with drink-driving and a number of other minor offences and is to appear before the court today.
