Carlow County Council has been asked to write to the body in charge of roads to request that works to upgrade the M7 be sped up.
Councillor Fintan Phelan raised the matter at a meeting of councillors this week where he suggested that there should be construction workers working 24/7 on the project.

Thousands of locals commute to Dublin every day and he says they’re being delayed – sometimes for hours.
Speaking to KCLR News, Councillor Phelan says the 2020 deadline for completion is too far away.
