Vigil to highlight need for womens refuge in Carlow

A candlelight vigil is being held in Carlow later to highlight the ongoing need for a womens refuge.

It’s being organised by Right to Housing Carlow/Kilkenny as part of the 16 Days campaign opposing violence against women.

They say that as a result of the homeless crisis, many people are staying in abusive or volatile relationships for fear of being made homeless.

It takes place at the Liberty Tree from 7pm.
