Carlow Tourism seeking new ways to promote Barrow after Blueway rejected

Carlow Tourism will have to find new ways to promote the River Barrow.

An Bord Pleanala last week upheld Carlow County Council’s decision to reject Waterways Ireland’s plans to develop a Blueway along the Barrow Track.

Carlow Tourism had backed the plan on the basis if would bring in more visitors to the area but Eileen O’Rourke says they will have to move one now and make new plans.

First priority is that the facilities for visitors will have to be improved along the River Barrow.
