Over a million euro awarded to Carlow and Kilkenny for live performances

Over a million euro’s coming to Carlow and Kilkenny to help stage live gigs.

It’s part of the governments €25million Live Performance Support Scheme and the largest local amount of almost €300,000 is for Kilkenny based Schweppe Curtis Nunn’s The Electric Caravan, a series of one-day micro festivals.

Five others across the county share €533,361 – these are Set Theatre at Langton’s, the Cat Laughs Comedy Festival, John Cleere’s Bar and Theatre, Matt the Millers and Shane Tobler at Crossroads Recording for Ballykeeffe Amphitheatre.

There are three beneficiaries in Carlow; Borris House Festival of Ideas, the Dinn Rí and Derek Ryan between them getting €227,435.

€290,906 Schweppe Curtis Nunn: The Electric Caravan is a series of one-day micro-festivals at four historic houses, across the four provinces, celebrating with audiences the essence of the Irish summer festival.

€182,021 Set Theatre at Langton House Hotel: Concerts in the Set Theatre Courtyard.

€145,880 Cat Laughs Comedy Festival: Comedy Festival in Kilkenny City

€131,992 Aragon Beverages Kilkenny: A series of live performances from John Cleere’s Bar & Theatre Kilkenny

€89,916 Emperors Robes Festival Company Ltd: A weekend-long outdoor production at Borris House Demesne, Carlow of live performances of spoken word, music, theatre, humour in the grounds of Borris House.

€84,627 Flexhaven Ltd: Dinn Rí presents live-streamed summer gigs including country, Irish folk, rock, pop, original/tribute bands and comedy.

€52,892 Made of Gold Entertainment Ltd: The Derek Ryan ‘Soft Ground’ Concert Tour.

€42,208 Matt the Millers: Traditional Music concerts.

€31,260 Shane Tobler Crossroads Recording: Live performance events from Ballykeeffe Amphitheatre
