Gardai are asking householders to be vigilant and lock up and light up their homes

Gardaí are reminding you to close windows and lock doors when leaving homes and businesses.

It’s as another local homeowner returned to their house in Moneenroe, north Kilkenny, recently to find the premises ransacked.

Garda Niamh Doran told KCLR News that ”The property owner had left their house at approx 5pm and they returned at 9pm.  They went to close a small window they had left open and they then noticed a larger window was open and items on the windowsill were knocked over. They then checked the rest of the property and discovered the mess and that their home had been ransacked but upon deeper inspection it doesn’t look like items were taken.”
