Carlow Fire Brigade have urged people to exercise caution and to take all necessary measures, ahead of celebrations taking place tonight for Halloween.
The holiday is traditionally the busiest night of the year for Fire services across the Country, with Dublin fire brigade experiencing one call every 70 seconds during last year’s festivities.
Speaking to KCLR News, Acting Fire Chief with Carlow Fire Service Ben Woodhouse said that people can report bonfires to the council, and are encouraged to do so.
The public is being reminded that possession of illegal fireworks with the intent to supply could result in a 10 thousand euro fine.
5 years imprisonment could also be sentenced to those convicted of throwing an ignited firework at a person or property.
The penalties are in place with an aim to target the misuse of illegal fireworks, particularly on Halloween when activity is at its most popular.
