18-year-old taken to hospital following crash involving car and e-bike in Waterford

Gardaí­ in Waterford are keen to hear from anybody who witnessed a collision between a car and an e-bike on the Cork Road last night.

It happened just before 8pm on the R680.

An 18-year-old was serious injured and taken to University Hospital Waterford while the man driving the car was assessed at the scene and did not require treatment in hospital.

The route remains closed this morning, with local diversions in place, as a forensic examination takes place.
