Carlow Mayor says fatal shooting ‘heartbreaking’ for the deceased’s family, friends and wider community

The young man killed in an accidental shooting in County Carlow earlier this week has been named locally.

20-year-old Paul Fitzpatrick was killed in the incident in the Leighlinbridge area late on Tuesday night.

It’s understood he was hunting with a friend at the time.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
